BlueSky Feeds for Game Devs
BlueSky is becoming a popular platform for sharing the latest updates on your games. Its lack of a discovery algorithm is arguably one of the things that makes it a more comfortable platform than Twitter, but it can also make it hard to get noticed.
Check out our BlueSky Feeds for Game Devs below to help you find and connect with fellow game devs!
GameDev New
The GameDev New feed shows the latest posts containing a bunch of words to do with game development. It’s the best place to see absolutely everything related to game dev all in one go.
You can make sure you posts show in this feed by including the hashtag #gamedev, but they’ll show up if you use any of the keywords we look for.
GameDev Hot
The GameDev Hot feed scrapes the same posts as the GameDev New feed, but then it only shows posts from the last 24 hours and sorts them by number of likes. This way you can see the most popular post from today about game development!
For your post to show up here, you’ll need to be talking about game development and your post should get as many likes as possible!
GameDev Screens
Our final BlueSky Feed is the GameDev Screens feed. This shows all posts about game development which also contain screenshots. Think of this one as “game dev Instagram on BlueSky“.
For posts to show up here they must contain some game development keywords, have at least one image, and the word “screen” in either the post or the alt text.
BlueSky Feeds for GameDev from other developers
Game Dev by trezy.codes
Trezy’s Game Dev feed is the most popular and probably also the first of its kind on BlueSky. It’s great if you want to have a shared experience with other game developers on the platform, but we find that it misses quite a lot of posts these days.
GameMaker Devs by nocturne.bsky.social
As GameMaker developers ourselves, we love to see what other GameMaker users are making. This feed by Nocturne Games features posts which use the word “GameMaker” or were posted by prominent developers. We tried to make our own similar feed, but the content it captured was never quite as good as this one! I highly recommend it.
Screenshot Saturday by trezy.codes
If you want to see screenshots of up-and-coming games, but only on Saturdays, this is the feed for you. Screenshot Saturday is a time-honored tradition in game development circles and this feed will help you to get your own games noticed if you make proper use of it.
