Bristol Indie Developers’ Playtest Party Was A Roaring Success

The Prize Raffle Taking Place at BID's Playtest Party

Yesterday I took part in Bristol Indie Developers‘ 2nd Anniversary Playtest Party at the Tobacco Factory in Bristol. I was showing our upcoming puzzle game Nildigo, which you can wishlist now on Steam!

It was my first time going to a BID Playtest Party, and this one was the biggest and most successful they’ve run to date – owing to the fact that they were celebrating the group’s 2 year anniversary.

There were a wide variety of games on display from puzzles, to platformers and mini games to robot-arena-battlers. Bristol’s game development scene is truly alive and absolutely buzzing. Everyone there was super friendly and enthusiastic, I definitely want to head to more of BID’s events in future.

Nildigo News

Allison’s been working hard on new features for Nildigo, which I showed off for the first time at the event. The new Starter Perk system allows you to switch up the Nildigo formula and they effectively act as 15 distinct game modes.

We got lots of great feedback from players and developers at the Playtest Party, the most common being that the game needs smoother onboarding for new players. That’s something you’re likely to see coming to Nildigo in future versions.

Once people understand it though, they can hardly prise themselves away from it! A really positive sign that Nildigo is shaping up to be as much fun as we’d hoped!

This was probably our last live event of the year. We want to thank the crew at Bristol Indie Developers so much for hosting, it was a lot of fun and we’ll definitely come back for more in 2026.

I make funky little games of all different kinds like Gyro Boss, Plunder Dungeons & Spellworm! Also making lots of fonts & free game assets.
