Happy New Year everyone from Daniel and Allison here at Chequered Ink! We’re coming up to our tenth anniversary, and to celebrate we’ve got some radical plans to give back to the community.

Free Game Assets & Templates

This year we’re going release tons of new game assets including sprites, sounds and GameMaker templates, for full commercial use in your own games for FREE. We already have a whole list of planned graphics packs & template projects which will mean an average of at least one piece of new content for you every single week of 2025!

New Fonts & Font Licenses

We’re planning to release as many new fonts as we can this year, and we’ve overhauled our font licensing system too. We want to make it easier than ever for your to license our fonts for use in your projects. Alongside the option to purchase our existing single or corporate font licenses, you’ll also be able to buy all of our fonts in our All Fonts Pack, or subscribe to our new Patreon page to get ongoing commercial use rights for as long as you stay subscribed.

Patreon Launches

You read that right! We’re launching a new Patreon page where you can support us and get loads of goodies for yourself! Everyone who subscribes to advocate or champion tiers on the new Patreon page will get copies of all of our games as they release on itch, as well as commercial use of all 1200+ of our fonts for as long as you stay subscribed.

And of course… Games!

We already have 2 new games in the works that we hope to release in the first half of 2025 – specifically in time for our 10th anniversary on June 18th. Will we make it in time? Who knows, but we’ll have more information for you on our BlueSky account and Patreon posts if you want to follow us there to keep up to date with all our latest gamedev news!

We also recently launched our All Games Bundle, where you can buy all of the games we have available on itch for one low price.

We look forward to bringing you lots of goodies throughout the year, either to use in your own projects or simply to show off the things we love making ourselves. Wishing you all the best start to the new year!
